Mark Buehrle was not only unhittable Thursday — he was perfect.  Chicago White Sox wins 5-0 against Tampa Bay and is now tied with Detroit for first in division.

Buehrle retired all 27 Tampa Bay batters to complete a 5-0 perfect game, the second in White Sox history.

Center fielder Dewayne Wise, inserted in the top of the ninth inning for defensive purposes, preserved the perfect game by leaping above the fence to complete a juggling catch of Gabe Kapler’s drive for the first out of the ninth.

Michel Hernandez struck out for the second out, and Jason Bartlett grounded to shortstop Alexei Ramirez for the final out as Buehrle raised his arms before being swarmed.

The Sox moved into a share of first place with Detroit in American League Central heading into this weekend’s four-game set against the Tigers at Comerica Park.

This marked the second no-hitter for Buehrle, who no-hit Texas on April 18, 2007.

The fans started sensing Buehrle’s flirtation with perfection in the fifth but didn’t start to clap in rhythm until Buehrle got two strikes on Ben Zobrist in the eighth.

Josh Fields gave Buehrle the only run support he needed on a grand slam in the second off Scott Kazmir.
